Your photos and data belong to you. Read the privacy policy to learn more.
Using Flock means agreeing to this page. If you have any questions, email us at support@flockbirds.com.
Your account
You need to be at least 13, and old enough to agree to this where you live. An account is for one person, and you're responsible for what happens on yours.
Your photos are yours
You keep every right you already have in what you post. Nothing here takes ownership of it.
What you give us is narrow permission to run the app: to store your photos, to show them to the people you've shared them with — your friends, and, if you tag a friend, theirs — to check them against the rules below, and, without your name or account attached, to identify the birds in them and improve how that works. We don't sell your photos, license them to anyone, or put them in advertising, and we will never show one publicly without asking you first.
Your profile picture works the same way, with one addition: when you invite someone, the link you send them shows your name and picture, so they know who it's from.
Post what's yours to post. Your own photos, or ones you have permission to share, and nothing that would break someone else's rights.
Delete a photo, or your whole account, and that permission you gave us ends. What friends have already saved or forwarded is out of our hands, the same as with anything shared online.
What not to do
- There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior. That means nothing sexual, hateful, violent, or degrading; nothing that harasses or threatens another person; nothing illegal; and no pretending to be someone you aren't.
- Don't harm a bird to get a photo. No flushing, baiting, or disturbing a nest.
- Don't attack the app. No scraping, no automated access, no poking at other people's accounts or data.
Reporting something
Flock has no public feed. You only see a photo if a friend posted it or was tagged in it.
Any photo can be reported from the app. You stop seeing it immediately, the person who posted it is never told who reported it, and we review it within 24 hours. If it breaks the rules above, we remove it, and remove accounts that are misusing the service.
You can also remove a friend at any time. They'll no longer see your posts, and you'll no longer see theirs, other than posts that tag a friend.
If something here is yours
If you believe a photo on Flock infringes your copyright, email support@flockbirds.com with enough detail to find it and to know it's yours. We remove infringing content, and we close the accounts of people who repeatedly disregard photo ownership.
What we can and can't promise
Flock is free, and it's a small operation. We work to keep it running and your photos safe, but we can't promise it will never be down, never lose data, and never get something wrong. Keep your original photos in your own photo library.
Bird identification is software making its best guess. It's often right and sometimes confidently wrong, and it isn't an expert opinion.
So, in the language the law wants: Flock is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is capped at $100.
Ending things
You can delete your account in the app, whenever you like, without telling anyone why.
We can suspend or close an account that breaks these rules, and we can stop running Flock. Unless something is urgent or unlawful, we'll tell you why and give you a chance to get your photos out first.
Who you're agreeing with. Flock is operated by bryce.co LLC. This page and the privacy policy are our whole agreement with you about the Flock service; the app itself also comes with the terms of whichever store you downloaded it from. If a court finds part of it unenforceable, the rest still stands.
Changes to these terms. We'll update this page as Flock changes. If a change materially affects you, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, and disputes belong in the courts there. If you're a consumer in the UK or the EU, this doesn't take away any right you have under your own country's law, including the right to bring a claim locally.
